about

“Live the questions now. Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”

-Rainer Maria Rilke

personal background

Hailing from the early 2000s indie/punk music scene, I spent the majority of my 20's in between the recording studio and an un-airconditioned van. I balanced long tours with long distance relationships and had to negotiate between survival on the road and thriving in my creative work. The pressure of maintaining a headspace to stay prolific in my art while paying the rent is a struggle I know far too well.

In 2012, I was faced with an impossible choice. Both music and my passion for psychology came to a head when the band was signed the same week that I was accepted into Graduate School. I opened two bottles of champagne that week when I made the decision to pursue both callings. Like a good Jungian, I have held the balance of these two paths since that moment.

Although my days on the road ended when I started my private practice eight years ago, I still make time to write music and paint as my primary methods of connecting with the unconscious.

clinical background

I earned my Master of Arts in Counseling degree from St. Edwards with focus primarily on Individual Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, and Existential Issues. I’ve since furthered my training with the Texas Seminar of the Inter-regional Society of Jungian Analysis. I am passionate about the creative process and how to optimize quality work while maintaining healthy relationships. I have practiced as a therapist at Capital Area Counseling, interned at McAdams Therapy, and have held my own private practice for the past 8 years. To bring it full circle, my office is currently in an old recording studio in West Austin.
